I have just finished these two mug rugs. I am very happy with the way they have turned out.

This one will go on the front of a plastic bag holder that I will make from a T Towel.....

So far I am still on track with my new year's resolutions. I am updating more often and writing patterns. I do not care that it is only day 4... it still counts...LOL

Later this morning I will draw new stitcheries to fabric and then this afternoon I will start stitching.

Everyone loves Santa pics at Chrissy time... I am no exception... but I really do think I had the most gorgeous santa ever.......

Our Little Santa cut his first tooth on Christmas day and has since bitten both Mum and Dad.

This is how Poppy was woken up on Christmas morning. You can just see our little Santa's mind thinking where in hell is my one of these..???????

I am planning on staying on top of this blog for the year. Time just gets away on me and I forget to update it. Hopefully by years end it will be a habit and I will just update it all the time.

Now what has been happening in my corner of the world. I have designed some new dolls and other things. Patterns are almost completed. Now this really is one job I do not like at all... the pattern writing. But it has to be done...... LOL

I tell you it all happens to me...... Hopefully now everything that can go wrong has and I will have a clear run to the end of the year.... LOL

Finally I have managed to get the next drawing up on my Typepad blog for the Teddy BOM... It is a free one so please go to my Typepad blog and save all the pics to your computer. Print them off and start stitching and join us in making the lovely Teddy wall hanging. This is the latest drawing to be added.......

I did manage to make a couple of dolls the other week... but unfortunately I was unable to get pics as I had to rush them off to my sister so she could close her suitcase for her trip to the USA......
But I am makng 2 small dolls now... not much to look at ..but they will be little cuties.....

Plus I am also working on a few other things. I am making the bag usng the freebee Raggedy stitchery that we gave away on our Bits & Bobs blog.... Plus I am also working on a couple of secret projects as well......... one is a Teddy BOM... it will be very cute......

Many things have happened...... Hubby had a pre heart attack... just as darn scary as a full blown one I can tell you. One artery was blocked 95% and the second one was blocke 80%. He now has two stents in and is on the mend. Though he isn't back to where he was before, but he will get there. We are going to exercise classes twice a week and do sessions at home on the other days. He has to go to Cardio Rehab so I tag along as well...... and I am starting to feel a lot better... so it is certainly doing me a lot of good. I can now lift the wheelchair into the back of the station wagon no worries... LOL

One of our daughters has had her baby .. a gorgeous baby boy named Xavier Vincent Clarke... Xavier weighed in at 7 lb 6 ozs 3355 grams... He as 50.5 cm long.

What do you all think.... This is Xavier at 4 days old.......

He is one gorgeous little man........

I am getting back into carfting again... it has been a long time since I have done any serious crafting.... but I am slowly getting back into it all again.....

My friend Jan Knight and I have decided to have a combined blog as well as our individual ones.

I hope I can manage to stay back this time... I have been flat out. We have been flooded in twice since Christmas. The last flood I have never seen so much water....

Lately I have been doing a lot of graphics work. There are siggy tags, post it note holders, bookmarks and notepaper to name a few. I have some added to my website so pop on over and take a look.......

Sorry about the long time between posts.... I have been very busy and then my computer crashed. I have been with out it for three weeks. My computer had to be reformatted so I lost a lot of information. I am slowly recovering it all.....

Hubby has been in hospital again... and will have to go in for another small operation next year as well...

As soon as I can get the rest of the things set up on my computer I will take some pics and show you all what we have been making......

I have lots of new fabric to sell... new patterns and lots of other fun stuff.

Sorry I have been absent for so long... but sometimes life just gets in the way. We have been helping a friend get ready to move to a new place and she is downsizing so there is a lot of work to get done. 6 weeks break at the moment as she is away on a trip... so we are resting up... LOL

But our friend did give us this fantastic old veggie box... her Dad made it years ago.....

Now how cool is that....????

Here is a pastel pincushion that I have finished this week.... next week I will be working on more of these... They sell for $22 Australian plus postage.. and they come with a retractable tape measure and a pair of scissors.

Well my internet problems seem to be over for the time being... I have had to change servers as my old unreliable one could no longer supply me with a connection.... The joys of living in the country.....

Finally I am able to e mail again...I have been having terrible problems.... Hopefully they have been sorted now and all will be fine.

I have just started my Raggedy Needle Turn Applique club. I am running this club through a Yahoo group. It costs $15 to join and $5.50 per pattern. There will be one paid pattern each month and free patterns as well.

Please click on this link and join the group if you would like to be in the club..... It will be a lot of fun and there will be give aways as well..... This is the first Raggedy we will applique.

Each month we will have a cute Raggedy to applique and there will also be smaller things to do as well. This will be our first freebie pattern....

The idea is that there will be 12 Raggedy patterns and as many smaller free patterns and at the end of the time you will be able to make a lovely quilt or many smaller projects.

By holding this club in a Yahoo group we will all be able to learn from each other. We will all get to read and see what everyone is doing. You will learn how to do needle turn applique if you cannot do it already. Feel free to use which ever method you feel most comfortable with. Also you will learn how to embellish and paint the faces. These same faces can be painted onto your dolls as well....

Needle turn applique club.....

I am about to start a needle turn applique club. It will be $15 AUD to join and $5.50 AUD per month for the applique pattern... plus there will also be some free patterns as well... In all there will be 12 cute Raggedy patterns that we will be making. I am new to needle turn and will also be learning from you as well... I will run this club through a Yahoo group and that way we will be able to chat back and forth amongst ourselves and help each other along the way.

Overseas members will be able to pay by Pay Pal and Aussie members will have Pay Pal if they would like to pay by credit card and direct deposit if they would like to pay by cash.

Each month you will receive the Raggedy applique e pattern for that month and we will then proceed to do the applique... I will teach you to paint the faces and embellish your piece. At the end you may choose to make a quilt using the 12 Raggedies and all the other smaller pieces.. or you may choose to make many smaller projects along the way.

Here are a couple of samples of the type of Raggedy we will be appliquéing.

As you can see these are very cute and you will agree they will make lovely items. If you choose to make a quilt we will all be able to learn and see how you plan on joining the blocks together. I am sure this will be a fun group and you will be very happy with the blocks that we will be making. There will be the 12 Raggedies and then for free there will be smaller blocks of their toys etc....

So if you would like to join.. please e mail me ... The club will start in a few weeks time. You do not need to be a needle turn applique expert to join this club... beginners most welcome and the experienced needle turn appliquers will enjoy the quirky designs as well......

It is s Stitching Tote.. I am very pleased with the way it has turned out.. This is the front of the tote. It has a stitched panel and a frill. Plus some machine fancy stitching as well.... You could substitute braid instead of the machine fancy stitches.. Don't you love the way I have closed the bag with the little baby cotton reels on the twisted cord.

This is the back of the bag... I have made a foundation pieced heart block and even had a go at adding a little piping.....

This is the inside of the bag.......

Here are the threads. I have also made a thimble bag. You will also see that there is a pocket to hold your notebook and one to hold your pen. Plus there is a pocket for other things to hide in.

Now on this side we have a needle book, a scissor keep and a detachable pin cushion. Plus a large pocket to hold your stitchery and pattern.

I have used my matching bias to bind the tote and a heavy duty fast to fuse double sided interfacing to give the tote strength.... It is lovely and strong and easy to use and sew through.

There will be a kit available for the wooden pieces to go with this pattern .....

We are waiting on stock of the wooden reels to arrive and will work out a price for the kits when they do.

I also have the interfacing, Fabrics and bias in stock.... Plus a limited supply of the threads I used for the stitchery. I am ordering more.

Pattern on it's own as a hard copy will be $10, plus postage..... $5.50 for an e pattern.

Pattern is half finished at the moment. Hopefully I will have it ready to go by the end of the week.

What a month I have had... and I am just making it in time for the February newsletter to be sent while it is still February. First we were with out internet for 10 days and then we had to go away to help one of our daughters move house. I was so glad to get back home, and was so tired that I just had to rest...... I think old age is starting to creep up on me... LOL

Hi Everyone,

I am finally here with some things to share. The start of the year has seen me very busy, I am almost finished the last lot of the Teddy Club. Due to my hubby's severe illness last year I have been way behind in getting the last month out. But I have just one more thing to go and it is finished. A very big thank you to all who have been very patient with me over these last very tiring and stressful 6 months. Hubby is improving albeit it very slowly and he still cannot walk unaided and is still in a considerable amount of pain. But he is alive and that is what counts most of all......

What's New......

This weekend I will be writing up these patterns, so all will be available very soon.....

This is Charli Anne she is a little cutie and is 22cm [9"] tall.

This is my Little Raggedy and mini quilt. The doll is 22cm [9"] tall and the little strip pieced mini quilt is 32cm x 29cm [12.5" x 11.5"]. We are also making a wooden shelf for the doll to sit on the the mini quilt will hang under the shelf... The shelf will be available very soon.

This is Alexis. I am making another doll for the sample as both of these have gone to new homes.

How cute are these tape measures. I will also have these available soon in other designs including bears, cats and embroidered ones as well. Kits will also be available for this item.

This is Beach Babe.... I have to make another of these ones for my sample as both of these dolls have gone to live in new homes. This doll is freestanding and is off the the beach for a swim and is taking her pull a long duckie with her.

All of these patterns will be available as a hard copy for $10 Australian plus postage and as an e patten $5 Australian.

Well here I am again..... I have been very busy.... the end of the year is always like this for us with craft shows etc that we do.... The Freebie Alphabet is coming along nicely and I have people from all over the world who have signed up.... we are up to the letter J..... I will have to send out the letter K early this week as I am off to do a quilt and craft show in Gympie this weekend....

My friend is coming alomg to help me and our hubbies are also coming with us... we are all staying in one of the local caravan parks.... our friends have a camper trailer... we have rented a cabin for the weekend stay... I am so looking forward to going..... It will feel like a holiday even though I will be working...LOL

I am going to be running a freebie stitchery BOM... well I will send out the freebie stitchery to all who want it and at the end you will piece it together however you feel like.. I am not a patch worker at all...LOL Best that you do it yourself.. trust me... much better....

Another Table and Chair Set.....

I am painting another table set... this is what I started with on Monday morning... a clean slate so to speak.. I first measure and pencil in the squares.

My next step is to freehand paint in the designs that I am going to have on the table top. Sorry this first one is a little fuzzy....

Back from the Sydney Trade Show.

It was a very good show, but oh so good to be back home again. As usual bought way too much and we were there to sell...LOL. Had to come home on the plane with fabric and some of my underwear in my handbag.

We also had to leave most of our dolls with two shops and they are using them at the Retail show that is on at the moment as samples. Also had to loan a few wallhangings to another shop so they can have them on display for awhile... Had to do this to fit the fabric in our bags that we bought...

My heart is always on my mouth as the plane is taking off.. will we make it as I know darn well most of the hand luggage is way over weight...

I promise I will up date the blog in the next few days...

Another doll...June Bug

This is another doll I bought on the weekend... another friend brought a basket of her babies in for me to have a look at.... and little June Bug jumped out and just plain refused to go back in the basket... so I just had to buy her... Lucky for me Margaret is a lovely lady and let me buy her, as Margaret is getting ready for some big shows that we do towards the end of the year and we have to have a lot of stock for these shows... so I am feeling very lucky indeed...

Here I have a pic of the little button jars I did up for the show.... I sold them all. But they did look cute with their little painted wooden tags on them...

The little painted blocks came up looking lovely with their fabric and I have the two meters of bias in the back of the bag. These were also a popular selling item over the weekend.

This is the latest thread stand that hubby made. We are doing a quilt show at Boonah this weekend so hopefully it will sell. I have put my spools of bias that I sell on it to show what it would look like full of thread. In front of each thread is a place for a bobbin filled with the same thread to sit. And before you all ask... no I do not have one... LOL And the handles on the two draws are half spools... neat hey..?????

I have been reading Blueberry Lane Designs Blog, and they are asking us to show our favourite most used pincushons.. here are two of mine. The first is a little one I like to have in my work bag so where ever I go I can pop a spool of thread on it and I have my thread and pincushion handy.

This one is another of my favourite styles... this one I have actually made for a friend... but I have been using it while I still have it here..LOL Sorry Sharon.... You can see this one holds your thread, your embroidery scissors and your thimble.

Table and Chair set

Well I have had one session of colouring the table top... This is my progress so far... This is the starting square..... Don't know why but I always start in this corner......

This next secton is the clothes line scene.... I have little scenes that I paint on all the table tops...

The next scene is a flying ant eating a slice of watermelon and he is about to have to share....

Then we have The snowman scene... I love the little one hiding in the dish of pears...

The last for today a Raggedy and some teddies..... see the little flying ant sitting on the swing...

Kids Table Set

Hubby and I are making a table and chairs set for a customer...... It will be similar to this one when finished....

But the one we are making now is to have Raggedies, my favourite things to paint.... so how happy am I???? The set in the pic has teddies on it. The top of the table is painted with a game on it... ladders and Ropes, like the old favourite Snakes and Ladders. The box holds the dice and the four ornaments that I buy to use as the markers for the game.

Over the next week or two I will show you up date pics of how we are progressing. So far I have painted the four Raggedies for the chairs and whited out the table top Hubby has cut out all the timber and is starting to put the chairs together. He also makes the box and the wooden Raggedies as well....

Here are the Raggedies.... 4 little cuties.....

The hooks in the top of their heads are just so hubby can varnish them and hang them up to dry......

This is the table top all measured up and whited out as I call it.... I don't actually draw the pictures.. I just paint them on with a paint brush and white paint... Then I colour them in.

This is actually the end of the gameboard.... You can see what will become a Raggedy and her dolly in a pram. There are always heaps of bees and flying ants all over the table top as well... I love them... Also ants, ladybugs, snails, dragnflies, turtles, worms and even a few spiders as well...

Here we have somewhere in the middle of the gameboard. You can see each square s numbered and we have a Teddy and a Giraffe and some more of my favourite critters....

Here we have the other top corner... This is what I like to call the Blues Brothers Fan Club..... Their is always a sun and a row of little flying ants each is wearing a hat and when I paint them they will also each be wearing sunnies as well... so cute...LOL

Well here I am again... new computer is all set up and working well... I just love my new monitor.. 24" huge.. I feel like I am in the front row at the cinema... Love it... love it.. love it...LOL 500 gig hard drive and 2 gig RAM, a memory which also has it's own 256 dedicated RAM... I feel like I can fly at the moment...LOL

The final child has left the nest... kidfree zone after 36 years.... woo hoo...LOL I am in the process of setting up a sewing room in Louise's old bedroom... My currant sewing room has been overrun with supplies....

Raggedy Club:

I am also launching a new Raggedy Club... All Raggedy lovers will want to be in this one... $10 a month and you will receive at least 8 Raggedy drawings... You can stitch them, appliqué them or even use the designs for folk art. One drawing each month will go towards making a nice Raggedy wall hanging. I will tell you which one it is to be each month. And when necessary I will also tell you what size patchwork you willl need to make to go with the blocks.... A real surprise as none will be alike... You do what ever patchwork your heart desires as long as it fits the sizes that I give to you. I will tell you what gets joined to what to make the wall hanging... So this will really be a mystery quilt and a lot of fun.

I will also give you some little patterns to use some of the designs on. And I will be giving away a free prize each month to one of the lucky menbers. Plus there will also be Raggedy bookmarks and note paper etc that you will be able to down load and use as well.... so if you like Raggedies.. then this is the club for you.. This has to be the most fun you can have with wool and a needle... Sharon a friend from NZ showed us how to do this and I just love it..... I am nowhere near as good as she is.. but I will improve......

Isn't it fantastic..???? I just had to get straight in and have a go at this one..... It may come as a surprise to those who know me but I knew exactly where to find my needles.. bought years ago when I was having a go at reborn babies and my overdyed wool.. which I bought over a year ago as well..... I did this and I am proud..... even though I need Sharon to have a look and tell me what I am doing wrong...LOL but still I love her...

I will be doing more of these .. I just love them...

Well this morning I have to go grocery shopping.. yes I know most of you are envious...LOL

Stitchery club.....

I am working on having a stitchery club. I will be sending out at least 2 stitchery drawings each month and I will also give directions on how to make the stitcheries into a wall quilt by years end. It will be a real mystery as you will not know what is coming next. I will be giving you dimensions of the size of the patchwork sections, but it will be up to you to have whatever design you would like in there. Eg three 4" blocks... you can then do whatever design you would like. I think this will be a fun way to get rid of a lot of your scraps. Plus have fun along the way.

As soon as I can figure out how to add a link on here, I will give you all two freebies so you can have an idea of what you can expect.

Stormy skies

Thought you all might like to see the storm we had on Sunday... It was lovely while it lasted. Not a lot of rain though, but the breeze was absolutely wonderful..... I say breeze, more like a gale.. but oh so cool....... The it started to clear and we had the most glorious rainbow.. so I know I am going to have a lucky year... The end of the rainbow was so close.

Well I have been trying to use my own designed template in here... but alas I do not know enough about it all to try it just yet... But I will get there one day...LOL

Yeah it rained and we now have three quarters of a tank of lovely clean drinking water... yahoo.... that is a load off our minds..... I am washing today so rest assured it will rain again....

Still getting all the pics onto my new website. I can't wait to be able to share that with you all...

And Angels website should be up and running pretty soon as well.....

I have been doing some more pixeling.. oh I love doing that..... having a ball I am.

Today I hope to get some stitcheries drawn to fabric as well... I have lots of ideas for new ones so will also have to sit a draw them up as well.

Well if I am to get anything achieved today I had best get to it...

Still learning

Well I am still trying to work out how to set this darn thing up...LOL and Sharon seems to have gone out..... so no help on hand...LOL

But I will master it.. I tell you... I will win, come out on top.. very brave words I know. But it still early in the year and I am really enthused remember...LOL

Just have to tell you all what happened to us..... It has been raining here so that is good, very good... so in our wisdom yesterday seeing as it was overcast and raining we decided to empty out our water tank and clean it out so it could be filled with fresh clean rain water.... Yep you guessed it as soon as we had emptied the tank the sky became blue and sunny...LOL And what a job it was too, four frogs later and not much slush at all we now have a very clean water tank.. but alas it is empty...LOL The scary part is we do not have town water, we survive on rain water for drinking and cooking. We do have what we call the chook tank.. the one that is full of holes and we use to give the chooks a drink... So we have about three rings of water left in it.. so everyone rain dances please...LOL Weather bureau said that it would be raining all week.. should of known not to believe them...LOL

I have a ton of work to do today.. some samples to finish and send off, some new designs that I have just put to paper have to be now taken to the next step. Some pixeling to be done and more website work. So this is it for me for the time being.. off to get stuck into it all.....

A new year a new beginning.

This is my first voyage into blogland. Like I need more to do in the day. Not enough hours for me now. LOL But here I am anyway, full of enthusiasim and ready to take on the world. Wonder how long it will last.

Hubby and I are very into crafts. We make a wide selection of craft items which we sell through our website cathroncountrydesigns.com ..We also stock and sell patterns and craft supplies. I have the full pattern range from Angels in Disguise as I am one of the owners. And I have a selection of Annie Smith's adorable raggedy patterns. Plus I am starting to add some of Hatched and Patched patterns as well.

I am at the moment designing a new website for Cathron Country Designs. I love this kind of work and have designed all the pixel drawings myself for this one. I have also just finished making a new website for Angels in Disguise. This will hopefully be up and running n a few days.

Another new venture that I am about to embark on is an online doll class. I was starting this last year but die to a death in the family and other family happenings i was unable to get this to happen. But for those of you who have booked it... woo hoo it will start at the end of this month.... This is the cutie we will be making. The second pic is her little pet or is it her lunch box....?????

Well it is breaky time here for me so I am off out to cook the usual. Bacon , poached eggs, tomatoes and toast.... Oh and my first cuppa of the day... How I love this one.
